Bodegas in Copenhagen
If you want to drink and unwind in the most quintessentially Danish way, one of Copenhagen’s waterside "bodegas" should be your first port of call. Enjoy a glass of crisp light Danish beer in surroundings reminiscent of an English pub, but with a Scandinavian twist. Some of the bodegas date back to the 18th century.
Nightclubs in Copehagen
Whether you’re a disco diva, techno fiend or old-style goth, Copenhagen is a great place to put on your dancing shoes. Rust and Penthouse are two favourites with locals and visitors alike. Nord Nightclub caters primarily to the over-30s crowd, while Club Faust is the best-known alternative club, offering everything from electronica to metal.
Beer bars
Along with bacon and blue cheese, Carlsberg is one of Denmark’s most famous exports. Regardless of whether you believe its claim to be "probably the best lager in the world," it is only one of a spectacular array of beers brewed in Denmark. Visit one of Copenhagen’s breweries to learn about what makes Danish beer unique and sample their wares just meters away from where they are produced.
Jazz
The Copenhagen Jazzhouse and Loppen offer great music all year round. If you visit in July, stop by the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, one of Europe’s largest. Flights to Copenhagen from the UK are easily accessible online.
LGBT
Heaven is the biggest gay bar, operating weekend discos and open as a café and bar for the rest of the week. Club Christopher is a more typical nightclub primarily attracting younger lesbians, gays and bisexuals.
